St Hugh's College, (Telephone Plumtree 2334), was founded in 1948 by the Diocese of Nottingham to be their junior seminary, accepting boys from 11 years and up, but by 1969 it had opened its doors to secular students. It was housed in an old manor, Tollerton Hall, which had been gothicised in the 1820s, and was set in around 120 acres.
